passed the 2018 Appropriation Bill of N9.12 trillion for the 2018 fiscal year,
explaining while it increased the budget estimate by N508 billion
from the N8.612 trillion proposed by President Muhammadu Buhari late last
year.
Presenting the details of the
2018 Appropriation Bill for consideration at the Senate, Chairman of the Senate
committee on Appropriations, Senator Danjuma Goje, APC, Gombe Central explained
that the six percent increase in the budget estimates was
done in consultation with the executive arm of government.
Oil price climbs above $80

price has climbed above 80 dollars per barrel for the first time in
three-and-a-half years amid simmering global tensions over Iran.

– THE Federal Government yesterday approved the
establishment of ten rice mills in the six geopolitical zones at the cost of
N10.7 billion. Government also approved the establishment of department for
traditional medicine in the Federal Ministry of Health with the sole aim of
finding ways to use traditional medicine to tackle the scourge of malaria in
the country.
This is as the government has also said that there was no previous
agreement between the Federal Government and striking health workers under the
aegis of Joint Health Workers Union, JOHESU but that efforts were on top gear
to settle all the demands of the workers.
